Is this on 1 or 2? Because if you're playing black/white 2, then you have a few more options for water types you can use to replace Calypso.
In black/white, you have Carracosta open as an option, which is pretty boss as all fossil pokemon are bound to be. Also Tympole is available; I can personally attest to Seismitoad being really bulky and fairly powerful. Basculin is also a nice choice; nice stats all around, but nothing outstanding. Swanna is a choice, but it's ugly as hell and you already have a bird. Jellicent and Alomomola are the last choices; Jellicent is amazingly bulky and it has two immunities. Alomomola doesn't really have much going for it besides a ton of HP.
In black/white 2, Psyduck is available early on. Golduck is pretty cool, but it doesn't have any overwhelming stats. I can personally attest that Mantine is pretty good; its physical defense is kind of poor, but it is a TANK when it comes to special defense. It also gets Hydro Pump, which is pretty good. Pelipper is pretty neat; it's got a good type, fair stats, and it's not ugly like Swanna. Azumarill can hit pretty hard if you're willing to get the right nature and make sure it has Huge Power.
Another option would be to just trade something over, but that's not as much fun. I could always send you something. I can get my hands on pretty much any pokemon.

This is on White 1. I do have Turtouga from a fossil, so I could use that over Calypso. She went on a sweeping streak in the Dragonspiral tower, which is why she's at a much higher level.
I wouldn't touch Tympole with a ten foot sterilised barge pole being held by someone else. Sure, great stats and typing, but be that as it may I just really wouldn't find training one fun in any way.
I can't trade anything over at the moment, as the only other games I have are 4G games. But, once I can use the PokeTransfer station, I'll import all my Pokemon from those two games, which should sort out any remaining problems.

Dude. Tymole is cool and I can't possibly fathom anything offensive about it.

I don't like the way it looks, the way it pretends to be Poliwag, and its second phase evolution annoys me. This. I really feel it could have gotten away with so much more if it resembled Palpatine. Anyway, brick wall of the dragon type gym has forced me to replace a few members of my team and grind them a bit.

Isn't Palpatine that old guy from Star Wars?
How would that make it look better?

I made this animated sprite for a kiwi pokemon
It has the ability Adrenaline, which starts it off with attack and sp. attack raised two stages; they lower one stage each turn
It's flying/fighting

I can't see the picture due to school internet proxies, so I'll make an opinion when I get home.
This is my team right now. I couldn't get past Ghentis after getting through quite a few tough battles and catching Zekrom with only two Ultra balls, resulting in my mood getting killed. I'm leveling them up so I can try again.

It's time to play "Guess what type this Pokemon is going to be: Ninfia version"
I'm guessing Flying

Judging by its similarities to Skitty and Audino, my guess lies with Normal. Unless of course it's an evolution to Eevee, what with all the Eeveelutions dotted around the page, then I think flying.
Also Gelo, that's a well done sprite you've made there. My only complaint is that the face looks pretty damn creepy.

Oh don't worry Tate, I can assure you that it IS an eeveelution.

No
They can't have any new eeveelutions that aren't dragon type
Don't they recognize the pattern they've established???????????????????????

I reckon Ninfia will be Bug type. Look at those Butterfly-shaped bows and those big eyes!
On a somewhat unrelated note, SoulSilver is downright tedious to play after defeating Blue. You're essencially forced into grinding on Gym Leader rematches - and that gets dull. I'm considering simply sending over some stuff and obliterating the remaining game.

I'm going to send all my Soulsilver stuff over to White, there are some serious improvements in that generation that my team can use (like Heal Pulse, and a more powerful Drain Punch). It also means that I can back up the save because White's on an R4i.

I just back up my Pokemon on Pokecheck. It's annoying that I can't upload events, but that doesn't matter too much. Backing up my Pokemon has, by the way, shown to be a good idea.

With so much dispute over Ninfia's typing, we've finally been given a small hint. Serebii has posted a video containing several of Ninfia's attacks. I'm sure our detective Kitty can deduce the typing of each like she did with the starters in the video on the OP of this thread. The English name has also been released: Sylveon.
My guesses are fighting, psychic, and ghost in that order. (And then there's Swift).
Funnily enough, most guesses at its type have been fighting, flying, and bug, which are the guesses we made. Other guesses are that Sylv and Ninf relate to widely known female figures, meaning that it is a female Normal evolution, which in turn promises a male Normal evolution.

My guess is wither Normal or Flying, in that order.
"Sylvan" means "of, pertaining to, or inhabiting the woods" meaning something with a natural origin. Grass would make the most sense with that name, but there is already a grass Eeveelution and it doesn't look like a grass-type.
A lot of people have said flying, but I'm going to go with Normal considering the pattern that Game Freak has established, and its coloration (pokemon with a pink motif tend to be normal type)

yeah, there's been a lot of mention of woodlands, placing the guesses on the grass, bug and flying types.
This is supported a little by the pattern I've noticed among the Eeveelutions and their names. Each name is simply an instance of the type of the Pokemon, with the suffix -eon attached.
So Vaporeon is derived from a vapour of water, Jolteon from a jolt of electricity, Flareon from a flare of fire, Leafeon from a leaf of grass, and Glaceon from a glacier of ice.
Espeon and Umbreon are obvious exceptions because their types aren't physical elements like the aforementioned are, so they're just named after the acronym ESP and the Latin translation of darkness, or something along those lines, respectively.
So, if this little pattern is anything to go by, then Ninfia's association with woodlands could set up a similar example of 'a woodland of grass, bugs, or birds'. Those all fit in, even though 'flying' isn't so much of an element as it is a verb, but considering most concepts for these games are initially planned out in Japanese it's probably a little translation discrepancy.

I'm hopping in the Normal boat here too, despite my inner feels telling me how improper such an outcome would be. Looking at it's attacks, it seems to have a fighting move, a normal move (I'm guessing either Cut or Trump Card), another Normal move (obviously Swift), and a Dark move (guessing Faint attack). Not a very uncommon moveset for a normal-type pokemon.

It's ever better when you can read their japanese names. Flareon - ブースター Jolteon - サンダース Vaporeon - シャワーズ Leafeon - リーフィア Glaceon - グレイシア Umbreon - ブラッキー Espeon - エーフィ
Now, let me spell out how their japanese names are pronounced: Flareon - Booster Jolteon - Thunders Vaporeon - Showers Leafeon - Leafia Glaceon - Glacia Umbreon - Eifi Espeon - Burakki
Note that Umbreon and Espeon are the only two who have japanese sounding names, which is probably similar with Ninfa's naming.

That sounds pretty legit. So right now our big guesses are normal, flying, and bug (not to leave Ferrety out), with the first possibly split between male and female evolutions (but maybe that last part is just me).
Also, is anyone else going to get the new Meloetta event that's coming out soon (to areas outside of Japan)? It's coming out around the same time as my birthday, so it will probably be my gift to me.

I really want the Meloetta event. I've wanted one of those for a long time, but as usual, my wi-fi sucks.
Also, Umbreon's name comes from the umbra of a shadow, otherwise known as the darkest part.

Well since it will be distributed through stores, you probably won't need wifi to get it.
