I've got X and I've played through a bit of it. I'm still patching things up in Black 2 and White, but I'll probably have a good team before long.

if they don't have 3D secret bases then all the potential will be just wasted

Oh man, they better have those in 3D, contests to.
I mainly say contests because I want my Milotic to have a third set of beauty ribbons.

Oh hello thread
I think it's time this thread should face new ownership, cause I pretty much play Pokemon occasionally now and I'm not really into it as much as I was back then. NOMINATE YOURSELVES WOOO

I don't think it's necessary to claim a GAC thread, it's fine to just leave it as it is without actual ownership. P:
also, which starter is everyone getting? I'm currently torn between Treeko and Torchic (torchic is the fire one, but treeko was my starter in emerald)

I'm really not that hyped for it. I never played 3rd gen until earlier this year and so far it's not leaving a good impression. Either way, I'll probably get the new Ruby, and choose Mudkip since I got a Torchic in Soulsilver and a Treecko in Ruby. It would also be a good choice to use against team Magma, which I'd like to learn more about.
I would like to see Z version, though. I'm really hoping for it because I want to start off with my Binacle and Gligar instead of the starters (IV bred, yo). I also really want the move tutors (which return with every sequel/set of sequels) so I can polish off my battling team and some other Pokemon with tutor moves.
Apparently, the Pokemon on the box art are slightly different than normal Kyogre and Groudon, not enough to be mega evolutions but maybe just form changes.
I've also heard that Nintendo had underwhelming sales of Wii U consoles and are turning their attention to games to make up for that. I disagree, since according to the latest sales figures on Wikipedia (the most reliable source since the library of congress), the Wii U is doing pretty well. PS4 sold 7 million units, Wii U sold 6.17 million, while the Xbox One comes in last at 3.9 million units.
Final note, if there's anyone here with X/Y who wants to battle, MESSAGE ME.

I heard all about this. I may actually get it. I used to have Ruby and it was quite a fun game so seeing this remade with X & Y's engine will be interesting. And with the inclusion of the mega evolutions and these new ancient devolution thingies it looks like its going to be much better know than when I first played it.

(Insert wild pokemon appearing joke here)
Two of my friends who are big pokemon fans decided that they wanted to get me in on the fun as well, so, one of them gave me his Gameboy Advanced, and the other gave me his extra Pokemon Gold game. They think I'm hacking the game, because at one point I beat my rival's entire lineup with only my starter, and also beat a trainer in one try whereas when they played it beat the crap out of them repeatedly, so.

well ORAS is here, I got Omega Ruby and I'm up the the 2nd gym. here's my team so far (I got kinda lucky with wonder trading so some of them may seem like they'd be impossible for me to have P: )
sadly having mostly traded pokemon on my team also kinda limits my ability to nickname them. if anyone knows of an exploit that allows me to change their names, please let me know.

I'd like to know why they don't just let you rename traded pokémon.

Because if there's one gameplay mechanic from the primordial slurry of the gen 1 games that they obstinately will not change, it is that.
Type matchups, attack types, battle mechanics, stat algorithms, overworld perspective, EV training, IV breeding, and four truckloads more have gone through at the very least one change. Honestly if we could earn the ability to do so by bonding with the Pokemon in question through the mon'amie feature, then that would make sense.
I would also like to know about an exploit, because a Cyndaquil that I accidentally chose to nickname and left at Cyndaquil has evolved with the nickname intact. I'd also like to rename two of my Weavile to what they were called originally.

They definitely need to tweak the nickname feature a bit.
