| There's this thread on Serebii where you post all the information on a certain pokemon, and they can determine whether or not it's hacked.
As for your Flygon, Frostie, the Masterball is the biggest giveaway. Who in the world would catch a Trapinch in a Master Ball? Still, there's no actual proof that it's hacked, but it's very likely. I'll trade my Garchomp for it.
By the way, here's a brief lesson on Effort Values and Individual Values.
Effort Values are hidden, meaning you can't see what they are. They affect the stat gains of pokemon. For example, if you fight a wild Patrat and win, then it will give your pokemon +1 Attack EV. The more EVs you have in a certain stat, the better that stat will be. Each pokemon can have a total of 510 EVs and 255 in any stat. For every four EVs your pokemon gets, its stat will raise one point at level 100 (but they still apply at any level). Therefore, because 255 is not divisible by four, most people choose to get only 252 EVs in a single stat, so the extra EVs can be used somewhere else. In that case, a pokemon can have a total of 252 EVs in two of its stats, and 4 in another.
Let's say you want a Garchomp that has maximum speed and attacking power. You'll selectively breed a Gible that has an Adamant nature, because it raises attack, or a Jolly nature, because it raises speed. Then you go to Route 1 to EV train for Attack. Route 1 is the best because it has only Patrat and Lillipup, each giving +1 attack EV. There are certain items that increase the amount of EVs your pokemon gains, such as the Power Bracer, which adds +4 attack EVs after every battle. If you battle a Patrat with the Power Bracer on, then you gain +5 attack EVs. If you have Pokerus, then that doubles the EVs you gain after adding on the Power Bracer. So if you battle a Patrat with the Power Bracer on and with Pokerus, that's +10 attack EVs after each battle. That speeds things up a lot, so you can EV train that Gible until you get all 252 Attack EVs, which only takes about 25 battles.
So there's your basic guide on EVs. Now for IVs, which aren't as complicated.
Individual Values are also hidden values. They are set once you see the pokemon in the wild or once you receive your egg, and they can NEVER change. Each pokemon has its own set of Individual Values. Like EVs, they affect how well a pokemon's stat is. There is an IV for each stat, and the maximum value can be 31 in any stat. Therefore, a perfect pokemon's IV spread would look like this: 31/31/31/31/31/31. However, IVs are often random, so most pokemon would look more like this: 21/30/23/16/10/31. As you can see, this pokemon's best IV would be in its Speed.
And that's really all you need to know about IVs. There are RNG techniques that allow you to get a pokemon with perfect IVs, but I'm not aware of them, and I generally don't worry too much about IVs anyway.

| That was a nice battle. The Earthquake in the beginning was actually an accident. I meant to use Swords Dance. Also, your Garchomp is slower than mine. Did you make sure it didn't have a hindering nature? And did you make sure to EV train it for speed? | |

| That's why I'm trying to get a gible with the right nature. I already had bad luck with my first one since it turned out to be a male with a gentle nature which sucks. Edit: Arghh! I was so close that time to! I hate connection loss's! | |

| Draco Meteor on a Garchomp? Seriously? Garchomp is a physical attacker, noob. Unless you've EV trained it for Special attack and given it a Modest nature, and possibly Choice Specs, you should never use a special move on Garchomp (with the possible exception of Fire Blast, which would get rid of levitating steel types that would normally wall it like Bronzong) | |

| Yeah, your Garchomp was obviously real. However, you just need to train it more carefully and give it better moves. If you want to find out which pokemon give out which EVs, just check Bulbapedia. On each pokemon's page, it shows its EV yield. Or, if you'd rather take the easier route and just find out the right locations for EV training, check this out: HP | Iccirus City - Stunfisk (+2) / Palpitoad (+2). Driftveil Drawbrige: Ducklett (+1). Also Audino (+2) which is in various patches of grass. Also Victini (+3) which respawns indefinitely on Liberty Island if you don't catch it. Victini requires that have the Liberty Pass item in order to be accessed. | Attack | Route 1 - Patrat (+1) / Lillipup (+1) | Defense | Victory Road - Durant (+2) (There is a Doctor on the fourth floor). Pinwheel Forest - Venipede (+1) / Sewaddle (+1) | Special Attack | Celestial Tower - Litwick (+1) / Elgyem (+1) (There is a Nurse on the third floor). | Special Defense | Route 17/Route 18/P2 Lab - Frillish (+1) (Surf) | Speed | Route 3 - Basculin (+2) (Surf) Marvellous Bridge: Swanna (+2) |
Also, I had to start over on my VBA Emerald because I lost my flash drive, which had all my saved data on it. So here's my current team:

| Thanks for helping me trying to improve my pokemon to their best. Although maybe it wasen't a good idea to teach my shiny Beartic Superpower cause that was a total epic fail. :/ | |

There's not really anything wrong with Beartic's Superpower. It's a physical attacker, so it makes for a nice coverage move. Then again, Beartic itself isn't the best just because Ice is a terrible defensive type, but Superpower is a great move for it. The reason you probably think it was a fail is because you used it on my Registeel. Well, Registeel happens to have a base defense of 150, which is amazing. It also had two boosts from Curse, raising its Defense two stages. So that's why Superpower didn't do much damage. But I'm sure it would be effective against other pokemon, so don't worry about it.

| I honestly appreicate your help cause I'm not such an expert when it comes to moves and stats. But I thought if you teach a pokemon a move that doesn't match their type, it won't be that powerful. I'm confused here. :/ | |

| STAB boosts same-type moves by 1.5x, so it's true that having same-type moves is a good thing. But if a pokemon only has one type of move, it won't be able to hit as many pokemon for super-effective damage, which does more damage than STAB in total. So it's also important to make sure that your pokemon has coverage against lots of pokemon. | |

| Yeah, I saw that blog post on Serebii. People should really do their research before criticizing stuff.
Also, I'm still prepared to trade my fully EV-trained Garchomp with Adamant nature for that shiny Flygon.
