Yep, I've decided to stop terrorising innocent people on the chatbox about this and instead terrorise the marginally less innocent people who click on this topic. You have been warned.
So Mass Effect 3, Bioware's latest RPG/3rd person shooter/gigantic money-making monstrosity and le grande finale pour la série is hitting the streets between next Tuesday and Friday, depending where you are (have fun waiting until the fifteenth, Japan, I'm sure there'll be plenty to do and— oh hey look, I have a holo-dagger! Whee!). As I and at least a handful of others around here are kinda looking forward to it, or are even running amok in the demo as we speak, I decided it'd be nice to have a thread devoted to the game, especially since it features an extensive multiplayer mode!
If you're on Origin already, post your user-name here if you're up for a taste of the multiplayer aspect of the demo (or the full game, when it gets here!) and we can co-ordinate a match sometime — you'd be surprised how much mileage there is to be had from the demo alone. (My own Origin ID is Delta317.)
If you've not yet gotten hold of the demo, but you're interested, follow this link to the Origin store from which it is available (Origin is a Steam-like application that's also used to host Spore patches these days, and you may need to download it from the link at the top of that page in order to play the game — worth it).
Now without further ado, some vids.
So what are you looking forward to the most in Mass Effect 3? What events and faces are you hoping to see as the Mass Effect trilogy draws to a close? How many more times do you think Shepard will punch that one reporter in the face?
...Me, I'm waiting to "airquote" the Turian counselor to his face while a horde of Reapers descend on the Citadel. But I am a bad person.

"Shepard will you stop being smug and save our lives already!" "What, again? No, I figure I'll just stand here making fun of you a little while longer instead."
I can only imagine what Conrad Verner will be up to while all this is going on. If we don't meet him again I'll be disappointed.
Picked out a couple of trailers and added them to the OP.

I might want to be a Volus Vangaurd, if possible. I could be just like that crazy one in Samara's recruitment mission in ME2.

Along with a Hanar soldier (This one has forgotten if its heat sink is over capacity. It wonders if the criminal scum considers itself fortunate.) and possibly some kind of Elcor infiltrator, that'd be some DLC well worth buying.
From the demo, though, it appears the races playable are human (male and female, all classes), Turian (soldier and sentinel), Krogan (soldier and sentinel), Asari (vanguard and adept), Quarian (engineer and infiltrator), Salarian (engineer and infiltrator) and Drell (vanguard and adept).

Well. I want to see how BioWare will explain the Reapers. Yes, we know they're kilometre long sentient spaceships that wants to destroy all sentient life in the galaxy. But why? Here's my theory: The Reapers attack and harvest once the "prey's" technology is advanced enough to be intergrated and/or used. Apparently the Reapers are some sort of parasites. The Mass Relay's are probably not even theirs. The Reapers have come to a technological singularity. They can't develope any further by their self. They need other civilizations to develope new technology's but also need to struck down this "prey" civilizations easily and that the new technology can be easily intergrated into the Reaper's themselves. Therefore the scattering of the Mass Relays and the Citadel. [b][This is an outlet from one of the discussion topics on the BioWare forum.]

Kitty, Epsilon and I are playing the demo multilayer, but we're usually one player down from a full squad. Come on guys!
(Search Delta317 on Origin and drop me a friend request, from there it's really easy to join a game. )

I'm holding off from the demo for the time being, but once the game officially launches, I'll be there. Playing Vanguard. (Unless I feel like trolling kitty, at that point, I'll go quarian engineer)
But honestly, I'm kind of disappointed by the race choices for Vanguard, a race that is culturally compelled to reproduce with every living thing it sees, and Drell.
Drell
Does anyone notice a problem with that?

BTW, Delta... were you able to get my friend request? I learned that McAfee was blocking me from ME3MP and Origin. :/

Oh wow.
Apparently Bioware have been getting quite lazy with certain events Mass effect 3.
In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, just look at this. (Warning, MAJOR SPOILERS - it involves what Tali looks like under her mask)

I was weak, I clicked, I regretted it, I was disappointed.
BTW, DON'T CLICK THE LINK. You think you're going to get Tali's face (Which is kind of a minor spoiler) but the bastards also added a major end game spoiler about Tali. DO NOT CLICK IT OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Now if you don't mind, I will go and hang myself now.

...That's why I warned you? ಠ_ಠ If something says there are major spoilers, and you don't want to be spoiled... Don't click. Simple as that. If you really need to click despite me warning you, then that's not my problem.

I knew the risks but I got more then I bargained for. All I wanted to see was her face. Not a major game plot... sigh... It feels like I pre-ordered the special edition for nothing now.

Perhaps we should agree not to post further links to any potentially spoilery material for at least a week or so, lest a moment of weakness find those of us attempting to avoid them tearing our hair out.

Well, shockwave is no longer a 50-foot wide freight train that kills everything anymore.
This makes me sad.

Mass Effect 3 is officially out in all countries (except Japan). To celebrate the release, lets all have a recap of the series with the help of Mark Meer...
