Just wanted to say this: I don't know why everyone keeps telling me that wolves are "somewhat rare" I've seen like 7 of them... and I was only playing for an hour or so.
Though when I tried to tame one, I thought you could feed them porkchops, so I tried left clicking on one with a porkchop... which went well.

my wolves are glitched on sit and eat me when I try to get them to stand up

That happened to me too. When you load a save with a wolf sitting it won't stand up and if you hit it it'll try to eat you while sitting.
