Minecraft is a game. Basically, the story is that you've somehow gotten out into some uncharted area and you have to survive. You can build lots of things that help you throughout the game for multiple uses. This building process is known as "crafting" and you need to acquire natural resources in order to craft stuff. One of the primary ways to get these resources is to dig underground and find minerals and stuff that can naturally be found there. When night falls, enemies come out and you have to defend yourself. Building a house and some weapons might be a good idea to defend against zombies and stuff. As for how fun it is, I've discovered that it gets boring pretty quickly... you build a cool fortress and stuff, and then you have nothing else to do. I personally wouldn't suggest buying it.

Actually, It depends on your playstyle. If your like me. Who invests a lot of time in various, large, detailed structures. You'll love it. If you enjoy exploration in video games. You'll also probably love it (infinite, randomly generated worlds) If you enjoy a survival game, thing. You'll like it for a while. If your like Gelo here, you probably won't. The game starts of slow. I'll grant him that, and eventually it gets boring. But if your creative enough. And you release that you can make a NEW WORLD whenever you want to, you should have a lot of fun I'd recommend buying it, but it's up to you.

Except you got to mine all your building materials instead of having them all given to you. And you have to use bad graphics blocks to build stuff.

| Most important things when it comes to games
Plot: Essential
Unique gameplay: Essential
Large, detailed play environments: Good to have
Graphics: Who cares?
When somebody says "I'm not buying a game because the graphics suck" I feel an intense urge to slap them across the face and shove a copy of mega man, super mario, zelda, or monkey island in their hands and force them to play the game. Those games, even though they have choppy graphics were some of the best games we've been blessed with, though N.E.S games have always had limited plots, the gameplay was always great. And lets face it. Even though Monkey island was point and click. The plot made it amazing.
If you look at games today, say Fallout 3. Ask anyone who played it what they liked most about it. they'll probably say that they loved the plot, the environment. Or the gameplay (I wuv mah VADS) If they say they liked the graphics, they either are stupid or didn't play through the entire game. Fallout 3 was a great game because of it's plot, playspace, and gameplay. Not because of flashy graphics. Same with minecraft. It's graphics might be something of 32-bit at most. I don't know, but the gameplay is still addicting. And with interesting, infinite worlds, you can keep on playing it indefinitely. Though the plot may be lacking. It's a game that rewards patience, and flexibility. You people have to understand that.
So please, don't look at the flashy graphics. Look at what makes the game actually great.

Oh yeah, there's another thing about that game. You have a respawn point. It's the point where you start the game, and it's where you come back when you die. I would suggest building your home close to your respawn point so you can always find it, or at least have some other way of indicating where to find it. I spent a VERY long time finding my respawn point when I started that game.

| You find string by killing spiders or finding them in dungeon chests. | |

| Basically, they are found in caves. In the center you'll have a bluish, grated block thing with fire in the center. It spawns monsters. Why you want to do is put torches around it so monsters can't spawn, then grab everything from the nearby chests. Then destroy the spawner with a pick. You can't pick it up. You should find iron ingots, buckets, maybe a saddle for pigs, some grain. And string in the chests.
The easiest way to locate one of them is to listen for high concentrations of monster noises. If you hear a LOT of zombies, chances are theirs a spawner there. Dig around until you find it. And get ready to either kill all of them, or get eaten.
Also, if you see cobblestone with lime streaks through it, you can figure a dungeon is there. You can also mine the mossy cobblestone and use it for building things. Since it looks awesome.

Thank you, I always thought those sounds were from outside! Is there a good way to go into a dungeon and not be killed?

| Play in Peaceful Mode. xD
Or, dig a little hole about 1 block large into it and attack the zombies from the other side.
Just remember that Dungeons are kinda rare, I've only ever found one in my game. (Or maybe that's just me.)

| Ive heard three since I found a magma pit and dug around it. (I found diamonds!) Maybe I heard the same one three times but I can hear skeletons and I don't want to be shot. and I have no string for a bow and arrow.

| That's not bad!
If you don't think you're ready to fight a spawner yet, why don't you try looking for obsidian? If you can't find any, just get a bucket of water and dump it on a lava pit. Then you can get a Diamond pick (Only take it with you when you find some obsidian, for saftey) and mine up some of it. Then, you can make a portal and go to THE NETHER!

| Yup!
Don't listen to anyone that tells you that gold is the best, because Gold just happens to be one of the softest minerals IRL, and Minecraft wants to have a lifelike approach on that matter...
