GAC Population

Sence GAC is not supposed to become huge like the Sporum, but a have a somewhat constant flow of post, I have an idea. When we get to 250 users, we stop adding new members.Then run GAC for about a week to see the flow of post, if it is not dessiered flow we simply add more till a certian number. We keep adding and stoping till the dessiered activity of post. Do you think this is a good way doing things?

I don't think we should restrict users to this thread. I agree that we don't want it to be as populous as the Sporum, but I don't think it will ever get to be like that anyway. I think this kind of decision-making is up to the admins.

We actually don't have to many members. You see over half of them have NEVER posted. Therefore we only have like 40 or so active members. (Proberly less) An example: If you you go to memberlist and search who was here first you will see I was number 20. But only 5 or so ever posted. So I was really the sixith person to join.

that's why we keep recruiting. in respnse ti this thread: it's not a problem yet. we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

A number of dessired members in not necessary. I think that we could always get new members. Stop getting members can create injustice which leads to... Bad things.

Yeah, it's a bit unfair on people who would like to join.

And the number of people who joined doesn't really mean too much, I think it's the amount of frequent users that does.

A member stoppage seems like a good idea... having another sporum would not be fun.

I think we can lock this scence this is dead now.

I really don't agree with restricting members to join or post just so we can get the amount of traffic we want to have. In my opinion, the very argument is pointless, because it just isn't practical to simply stop newer members from joining. This forum can become as large as it wants to become, and unless you provide me a really good reason to do so, I'm apposed to doing so.

NO!! I don't want having another Sporum! I hate the Sporum because it's so many members and there are so many pages that i can't keep track of anything! We don't need alot of members. Thats why i prefer to post on this forum.

Same here: i tried the sporum once and frankly hated it: came here when it had 39 members and have liked it ever since.

And you people are aware this place will never reach the critical mass to become the next sporum, you know that. Right?

And why not? Sure. We might eventually have a big forum, but that. By ZERO means would make our forum like the sporum. People, just chill out and see what happens. I don't see any reason to get antsy about any of this.

I think I made a little mistake. I'm running a contest right now, and anyone who enters must comment to a GAC thread (GroxQuest Trailer Contest). This might attract a few extra regulars. I don't know it that's a problem yet, but I just thought I should let you know.

Many users are inactive...

Bence, there are alot of inactive people on GAC. We have some of the best adventure creators (Remypas etc.) but they are always inactive. They actualy make a account and never visit.

With the amount of unactive users on the sporum that's almost ridicolous. What i mean is, it will always be many unactive members.

Now, why are you all so negative about the sporum? The amount of members is not the problem, it's that the communuty is so depressed. And why are they depressed? Because spore let them down. And they're not even THAT big. If we would become big we would still not be depressed so i don't really see the problem why you are whining over that guys. :I

Anyway, I think that more the members the more interesting. And i like interesting things.

My view for this has changed over time. No, it wouldn't be fun for this to become another sporum, BUT we shouldn't block this from others. Who knows, the next joiner might be the best GA creator this forum has ever seen.
