Space Stage Online?

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I really think it could work. It's a sort of online, multiplayer version of the space stage*. Here's how it would work:

It takes place inside a small star cluster, with about fifty stars for every player (if there's two players, there are 100 stars; if there's three players, there are 150 stars, etc). The players (between two and four, though additional CPU participants can be entered as well) start out with several colonies and a homeworld. Throughout the set time period (anywhere from fifteen minutes to two hours) you must destroy the opposing empires. You can form temporary alliances with other players as you take on difficult enemies. Whoever has the most colonies at the end wins.

good idea, It may be fun, but it may take a bit of extra progtraming. And a timelimt is not spore-like at all, that would be a "min game" inside the large game of space stage and the supersized game of Spore.

Yes, it would be awsome. But it could be annyoing when you have say 30 random ppl challenging you to an inter-stellar battle.

That would be cool. But also, it would be really awesome if the normal space stage could be played online!

It would work something like this:

When you go into a space stage game, just before it loads it will ask you if you want to play "online" or "offline" When your online space stage will be normal but everyone playing online will be in your game! You can vist there clonies, trade with them, attack them and even go on a live chat! That would be space stage awesome!

It doesn't have to be an expansion pack or anything. It can be a whole new game, or at least something you can download from the Internet.

And the maximum number of players is four, including CPU. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

i liekz this idea. and possible maybe multi player creature stage or tribal... or civ. it would be fun.

I stick by my want of multiplayer adventures...

Pretty much the entire game would be fun in multiplayer. except Cell Stage, that would be annyoing to have other ppl useing cheats in stuff to get all the parts and then attack you. But anywho, it would be fun!

I don't really think there would be cheats for a online game.

As I stated in the original post, it wouldn't take place in the normal Spore galaxy. It's just a random star cluster with 100-200 stars, depending on the number of players.

yeah! multiplayer adventuers! and if your buddy fails... you cn still won, but it's harder.

A good Idea is to send transmissions to other players, it is optional to have yourself in the transmission box or your species.

If they changed the space-combat system it could be great fun.

The ship builder in me would kill a great many EA executives to play a Star Wars Battlefront II style space battle with my own creations.

Oh my god, that would be perfect. But I think that would be better for Adventures than the Space Stage.

if they made it star wars BFII style it would be really fun. But what would be bad is if they ask for money from us .

Lol, I guess they'd have to remove the option to extort other players. It's bad enough when zealot AI's do it.

I've always thought about that. That's a really good solution to that. I couldn't have put it better. Nice job!
