Perhaps you could just glue a link to one onto the OP? I looked up an online one.

This one lets you add a bunch of sliders with different time zones, so you can plot the time on GMT, then add sliders for America, Australia, etc, and it will show the relative time there. It can also be used as an ongoing clock for all time zones.

It isn't as handy as one that you can embed on the post, but it would serve its purpose, wouldn't it?

Nope, I have that option on and it makes no difference.

Hello all. Remember me? I've been lurking for a few days now. This is really late, but here it's still Thursday for another hour. I'm in for whatever game, as long as it's Mac-friendly and I can get it by Saturday. I don't have enough experience with most of these games to warrant a vote, so I hereby relinquish any right to complain about the outcome.

Before the night

Download Toribash from here, install it and create an account! Try out the tutorial to learn the basic controls.


On the night

- Log into Steam and join the GAC Steam group chat, from which we'll be co-ordinating things and distributing server details.
- Keep this list of chat commands handy, but the only three you're likely to need are /passwd (type this followed by the server password to enter the game) /spec (to take yourself out of the bout list and into spectator mode) and /enter (to put yourself back in — you'll automatically be put into spectator mode if you go AFK for too long).

So apparently I may be able to catch the tail-end of this session if certain IRL things go a certain way. If I pop up on steam and message one of you, just let me know if you guys are done or if you're still going.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the turnout tonight; the attendees included only Drago, DarkStar and Eps — plus AgentAG and Isak, for a bit, who aren't even on the roster.

I believe this is in large part down to a lack of communication, so I ask: What problems transpired that kept you from joining us — and could you have informed us of them prior to the night? If so, please do so in future!

The purpose of this thread is that we can rely on people, everyone if possible, being online at the same time to play, rather than it simply being me spamming Steam messages everywhere in the hopes of dredging up a few players. If you can't make Saturday night, then we can change things. If you button up and don't say a word, however, no-one's going to have as much fun.


The other purpose of this thread is to introduce each-other to new game experiences; if you were scared off by the game, and Toribash is certainly rather unique, then post! Whoever proposed the game will, I'm certain, be more than happy to give you more info — or say what you'd rather play, and why, and you'll see peoples' response in the polls, trust me.

*Warframe is a new free-to-play on Steam, and looks mildly interesting; it's a co-op game as well. I think max-players might be 4; I'll get back to you guys on that.

Warframe looks cool, but it also looks eons ahead of what my crappy lil' junker here can handle.

It might be worth checking; I thought it looked a bit above my grade, but I haven't had any problems yet. Since it's a free game, of course, there's no harm in downloading it and making sure. I've not actually played anything but the tutorial yet, but the phrases 'co-op multiplayer' and 'space ninjas' are both hard-wired into me.

One thing about that game I'd like to get straight is a mention, in TB's video from the closed beta phase, of it being 'drop-in drop-out multiplayer', which suggests players can join and leave games mid-mission. That might make coordinating between multiple groups more smooth — Plague, can you confirm if this is the case?


Regarding SS13: I'm going on holiday for a week as of today, so I'll be able to continue coordinating and playing games but I shan't be able to host a server. However, Tala has downloaded the source code, so we may see where that goes. (It'd probably be less laggy if he was hosting, actually. >.>)


@Kitty: I'd be interested to know what it was that kept you from joining us on Saturday; I get the distinct impression that 10pm GMT is rather early for you?
