I think barring any major objections we'll be delving into Terraria update 1.2 on Saturday. Here's how we'll be set up:
— Bring a new character (no health or mana upgrades)
— In addition to your starting equipment, you may bring the following: - a normal(!) grappling hook (recommended) - up to 1 platinum10 gold in money. - any aesthetic gear you like (nothing with stats, bonuses, armour etc) - a piggy bank or chest (not containing any further items)
The current plan is to start from scratch in a new world. If we decide to speed early-game progression, however, we might or might not hand out some additional items once we're in-game. Also, since grappling hooks are a grind to get hold of the plan is to hand out one to everyone once we get a single hook.

So this week we're looking at surfacing from our 5-week Terrariathon and having a punt at No More Room in Hell — it's emerged from Beta since we last played and is now available for download directly from Steam — I haven't tested it yet, but it's likely advisable to download it via that page even if you already have the mod. On that note, we'll likely be able to host our own game this time, rather than hopping on a public one as we did back in the day.

Thoughts for next week, anyone? The main problem seems to be choosing something that everyone can play — three games I vaguely have in mind are: - SS13. You can't hide from it forever. - Guns of Icarus, which most of us have, excluding Ter. - Dungeon Defenders. It's been more than long enough since I last played this one that I wouldn't mind revisiting some of the earlier levels. Most of the levels are only four-player, however. - Monaco: I've seen some gameplay of this, long ago, and it seems like fun — again, four players, but both it and Dungeon Defenders (with all the latter's DLC included) are on for sale prices in the Humble Store for the next 30 hours, if anyone would like to register their interest promptly.

So after a lot of discussion that felt like it wasn't really going anywhere, we suddenly happened upon the online version of Cards Against Humanity: Every round a black card is drawn at random and each of the players picks a white card, or a pair of white cards, to fill in the gaps, and the funniest choice/s wins. Be warned that the text in the screenshots below is NSFW... but too funny not to share.

So, in the wake of the latest seasonal sale on Steam we've been left with a few options. Place your votes now: Guns of Icarus or Killing Floor?

Although this Saturday is a little far from now, I suggest that we do Starbound for the next game night.
EDIT: Looking at how many of us have it though... never mind.

I officially advise everyone who does not already own it to go get Starbound — well, once the next patch comes out (a recent blog post mentioned that it might involve resetting characters). That shouldn't be long from now. Off the top of my head, that includes Plague, Agent and Drago at this point.
Failing that, I'd be game for playing Killing Floor, now I have a better idea what's going on with the game and have sorted out the audio issues I've been having with Skype.

Decision. This glitch would prefer to partake in the game of Starbound, if possible.

If anyone else wants to try hosting a Starbound server, the port you'll need to forward is 21025 and the config file is found in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound" — but you only need to touch that if you want to change the password/s. Otherwise you can just use the default passwords when joining, one of which is "swordfish". You can launch the server from the game launcher. Simples! Especially if you have a little program that forwards ports for you. >.>
As of a recent patch you'll also be asked for a 'server account' when joining, but you can leave this blank by default.

Although the vote is still going, here's 3 reasons as to why you should consider purchasing Starbound, in case there's anyone who is hesitant.
1. It's basically an upgraded version of Terraria, with one of the main differences being the ability to go to other worlds when you get bored of the one you're on, with each world containing different biomes and/or structures
2. If you manage to find an instument, you can download custom songs to play ingame and annoy everyone in multiplayer
3.

Just Cause 2 multiplayer has been brought up as a strong contender this week, now it's at full release. Currently the game itself is also on a midweek madness deal — if you don't own it already, it's worth it for the single player alone!
Any objections, other ideas?

Highlights of last night:
Being reincarnated as a turtle is hard, okay?
Harnessing the power of blank cards to turn the tide against those who oppress you.
Treasured memories.
