The Grox and Dark leech; rivals almost since the time the two empire dragged themselves into space. The species where blissfully ignorant of each other, both advancing, both conquering and expanding... And then they collided. And it was not
a friendly first contact. The Dark Leech saw the Grox as weak due to their reliance on cybernetics and slave soldiers (like the Conquerix). And the Grox viewed the Dark Leech as primitive due to how the Dark Leech were constantly improving some of their more effective older tech (like ballistics) and their somewhat small empire. Eventually, this dislike turned to conflicts, small skirmishes of varying causes. These skirmishes turned into an all-out war. Eventually the two sides were forced back into their respective territories.
That was ages ago. New empires have been formed, new alliances have been made, and a new war bubbles underneath it all. Sides are being taken. Civilizations prepare for battle. History is prepared to repeat itself.
Welcome to The Grox War.
It's Back! The first role play to grace the GAC is back and with a vengeance! For those of you who aren't familiar with The Grox War, I'll tell you it's exactly what the title suggests, a war against the Grox. An important reminder, This is before Nerrone's Rangers in the RP universe timeline
-All the basic rules of roleplaying apply here -- no godmodding, controlling other people's characters without their consent, ect. If you don't follow these rule I will remove you from the RP AKA I will kill off your character in varying degrees of pain.
- Three Character max. No more. (I'm looking at you Razor...
- I highly suggest keeping the forth wall intact
this time around. (believe it or not, this was a problem in the previous role play for a short time.)
- If you need to post out-of-character in the IC thread, do it in ((double brackets)) to prevent confusion.
- Combat is the same as NR/BtS.
----- Combat: When fighting a character that is controlled by someone else, including any NPC's, you should state your attack rather than stating that you hit them
. For instance, instead of "Alice punches Bob in the face, knocking him to the ground," consider: "Alice throws a punch at Bob's face, attempting to knock him to the ground." The second statement is better because A: it gives Bob the chance to make a post dodging, blocking or deflecting the attack to a different part of the body (or just straight-up posting his reaction to being punched in the face) and B: it states the potential consequences of the blow connecting, which is a useful guide for when Bob posts. The first statement does not give Bob such an opportunity and is classed as an 'insta-hit', which is a form of godmodding. Also it should be noted that Bob shouldn't dodge every
attack aimed at him: that would be as inconsiderate as insta-hitting. Which is godmodding. And will lead to a painful death for your character
- Enjoy yourself! dangitCharacter FormUser:

21 DLY (Roughly 63 Human Years)Race:
Glove Claws, Electro Sword, Robotic Eye with vision filters (Night, Infrared, EMP,) "Omnifire" (Plasma/Bullet firing) Pistol, Collapsing "Omnifire (Plasma/Bullet firing) Sniper rifle, various survival tools, natural toxic tail-barbs, Dark Leech Spec Ops armour.Bio:
Naboo was always a mercenary at heart, even as he joined the military and became an admiral of the Dark Leech fleet, he was always a merc. He was sent to an outpost and was part of the many skirmishes that built up to the cause of the new war. He lost a friend and an eye, and this had ignited a personal grudge in him, a grudge that only worsened the longer he was made to restrain it. He was none the happier to accept the offer to lead the "Grox Purge."Strengths:
An able fighter and commander, very capable most weapons, agile, best at open combat.Weaknesses:
Headstrong and quick to anger to a fault, stubborn
, while he may be stronger that average for for his dark leech subspecies (desert) he's still rather upper-body weak compared to most other races, his grudge can sometimes get the better of him, caffeine addiction.Notes:
A scar from a claw blade runs down the right side of his face (said claw blade is the reason for his robotic eye.)
He had the common sense to arm his limbs. On his left arm is a boxy plasma pulser that has three curved blades extruding from the vent at the front. He can shoot with the pulser without interference, but he can also heat up the blades with it. On his other arm is something like a gauntlet, just a plate of metal with three claws on it that it held over his right hand by a frame. On his biceps are two compact batteries for storing energy.
He has two other weapons. The first is a plasma sword. It looks like a short, blunt piece of metal, but when it is drawn, a longer blade of plasma extends from it. His last weapon is one that he had before he was blasted to pieces: a collapsible sniper rifle.Bio:
He worked as a mercenary, mostly as an assassin, for quite some time. However, on one mission, a rival assassin threw a grenade at Maarucye and he wasn't able to avoid or lessen the detonation. Of his four limbs, only his right leg remained. He also lost an eye and a lot of bone from his skull and back, but he was fortunate that he was on the roof of a hospital at the time. He had acquired much money beforehand, which he spent rebuilding his body. His limbs were replaced with stronger, bionic equivalents, with the exception of his right hand. That was saved and attached to the end of his robotic right arm. His eye was replaced by a wide, hooded lens, and a plethora of curved, metal plates were attached to his body to cover up the areas where he lost bone. There's one on his head, attaching his artificial eye to some more metal on his neck, two serve as shoulder guards, and the rest are spaced out evenly along his spine.Strengths:
His skill is in combat. The metal which makes up so much of his body is a strong alloy that can stop most types of bullets, with the exception of strong armour-piercing ones. His limbs provide him with greater physical strength, and he isn't clumsy with his rifle, either.Weaknesses:
He is very
heavy. The metal attached to his body brings his mass up to 180 kilograms. As a result, he can't swim very well, and he usually pushes the weight limit of passenger vehicles. The metal also conducts electricity. The batteries can intercept a net charge that starts at his hands without injuring him, but if he is electrocuted anywhere below the shoulders, the vital organs between the point of contact and the batteries are at stake.Notes:
Of course, he is often mistaken for a Groxist or Grox supporter. Fair cop, he'll admit, as it was his choice to disregard any subtlety when designing his robotic prosthetics. While he's sure it would never work, he has entertained the notion of going undercover against the Grox. Since he has one metal foot, his gait is irregularly and loudly so.
Birth-date unknown. Appears relatively youthful.Race:
Malli Moonblade, Balanced Throwing Daggers, two Stiletto daggers, pair of curved knives, smoke grenades and flashbangs.Bio:
Raised and trained as an Acolyte of the Silent Temple, a secretive organisation specialising in infiltration and close combat, the Temple's chosen emissary favours the Malli Moonblade in combat: an antiquated design of single-handed, double-ended sword made from woven titanium nanofibres, capable of cleaving flesh and metal as efficiently as any powered weapon. This, coupled with the Mallium race's naturally quick reactions and acrobatic physique, make this being a graceful, extremely dangerous fighter.
As a person, little is visible of this Acolyte's character beyond where it links with Temple dogma: Tutors note an unusual attachment to her visor — a device that enables numerous vision filters and conceals most of the wearer's life-signs from electronic systems, as well as their face — and a greater readiness to engage in open combat than the average assassin. Her most notable identifying features are a pair of faint parallel scars running across the right side of her face.
Her purpose is to act as a representative of the Silent Temple's interests, the group having agreed to lend their services to the war effort.Strengths:
Exceptional reflexes and dexterity, expert in stealth.Weaknesses:
Low physical endurance, not proficient in use of firearms — focus on mêlée combat results in a disadvantage at range.
Age: 22 (36 human years)
Equipment: A poison blade along with a Plasma gun.
Bio: Recently had her planet destroyed by the Grox. She rather not share her history due to unknown reasons, but still wants to do everything she can to help destroy the Grox.
Strengths: Agile and quick thinking.
Weaknesses: Weapons aren't too strong, and sometimes underestimates opponents.
Notes: Her personality is calm and level headed, but sometimes quick to anger if you rub her the wrong way. Figuratively of course
Age: 44 (4,400 Human years)
Equipment: Custom Electric Sword with a Plasma pistol, short-range shoulder mounted stun rockets (Only ever used against large beasts and mechs.), and power armor which can switch between medium and heavy armor. (Heavy armor used when fighting against larger beasts and mechs, and medium armor mode when fighting normally.)
Bio: The world to Taladox has always revolved around him being fit to defend the innocent. As usual when defending the innocent, there is always one time where you can't save them. Or rather, to sacrifice one life to save a million. He failed to save his wife. But he saved an entire Taldixark colony. He has lived with this over his head for 2 thousand years. The death of his wife was tragic, but was really his wife's life for a million others dead? He still doesn't know.
Strengths: He is rather fit. When not wearing his power armor, he could do parkour rather easily.
Weaknesses: He's immobile between armor switching and quite vulnerable when doing so. He moves slower when he's in heavy armor. Prone to getting rather angry when provoked so. Often does before thinking when in action.
Notes: His past is a touchy subject. He often acts rash whenever his friends start a conversation around that day.
Name: Xol Til’ack
Equipment: Small shockdagger, compact plasma carbine, compact stealth module (mounted on chest, effects last upwards of thirty seconds, recharge time fifteen minutes), small backpack (contents: twenty clip-batteries for his carbine, a flashlight attachment, five micro det-charges.)
Bio: Xol was born into the corrupt socialistic regime that had consumed Cethlos at that time. He had always been fascinated with technology, but cultural limitations had stopped him from indulging in this. He stowed away on an intergalactic cargo ship at a young age, and through a series of surprising escapades, he found himself on board the INRS (Intergalactic Nephid Research Station), a spacestation dedicated to advancing technology. Xol spent several years here, before recently going rogue and using his new technology as a freelancing mercenary.
Strengths: Can use stealth and shockdagger for critical strikes, skilled technician/engineer, good pilot, performs well under pressure.
Weaknesses: Only four feet high, weak strength, relies on technology too much (arguable), can become reckless when he feels there is too much control over the situation at hand.
Notes: ((I switched up Xol's equipment for this to a different loadout, just to see how the limitations of the dual pistols might have affected combat in NR. For the carbine, I was thinking of something like this. Also, for the det-charges, I was thinking something along the lines of a tiny sensor mine that he can quickly program to lock onto a specific target or lifeform signature, then stick to a wall and arm before it detonates near defined signature.))Character Name:
None. He was born in a military cruiser in which his father served as an Admiral. Equipment:
Specialized RK-85 "Battlemaster" Assault Rifle, RKP-97 "Sting" Tactical Pistol, Combat Knife, "Bastion" Armor, Grenade BeltBio:
Triex was raised by a military family and surrounding. During his youth Triex was very fond of his father. His father was an admiral and military figure just like Triex is currently. During his adolescence, Triex joined the army. Once he received special training at the age of 19, he was sent to the Recon Commando Unit as a leader of a squad. Where his assignments were high-risk and sometimes top-secret missions in which the government's security was involved.
Once he hit the age of 22 an unknown enemy from a different galaxy invaded for slaves and resources. This resulted in 7 years of galactic conflict. The Non-Senate and less developed races were tricked into thinking that the invaders were offering ascension and Utopian-like peace. They helped them and this made it harder for the Galactic Senate. The invaders were technologically superior and successfully made the galaxy fight itself. Once the Destroyain military received intel on the invaders dreadnought the Senate races sent all of their military power to their homebase and dreadnought.
After all of the years that passed during the war, Triex had became an admiral of the Destroya's flagship. Once he received the order to make a final push he readied his crew and mowed toward the dreadnought. But the galaxy was out-gunned and outnumbered. When all hope seemed lost Triex ordered his flagship to crash into the dreadnought. A rash and bold choice, even for him. The dreadnought was roughly twenty-times larger than the flagship. Triex ordered everybody to enter the escape-pods but it was too late. The flagship crashed into the enemies dreadnought and hit it's critical systems. The dreadnought was disabled and the crew died from the lack of life-support. Triex was the only one that escaped that day. He has lived with the pain ever since. The rest of the invaders had either fled or had been bombarded because of their sudden lack of military force.
Triex was now a military figure, leader and hero. But he didn't feel the same about himself.
Triex has son Driex and a wife, Diatria, whom used to be a bounty hunter during the war.Strengths:
Triex is the powerful soldier and military leader. But this isn't what makes him great. He has had years of experience fighting countless battles, surviving a galactic war in his galaxy, being a diplomatic figure for his race and taking a risk like sacrificing his own flagship for the cost of winning the war.Weaknesses:
Being nothing but a soldier is also his weakness. Since birth he was raised by a military community by military parents. The only thing he knows is war. He can be very rash in deciding what to do during a firefight. He takes almost impossible risks for the sake of winning. Which can either result in the best, or worse resolution. Even when these risks turn out to be successful it has high consequences like when decided to sacrifice his flagship and it's loyal crew into an impossible enemy. This causes Triex to feel very guilty, depressed and distracted.
