| My friend got this in an email, and although it's probably just spam, anyone know what it is?
START_CLASSIFIED_TRANSMISSION
TITLE: dcpu specs, classified, not final TO: redacted DATE: 20120328 VERSION: 4

END_CLASSIFIED_TRANSMISSION
It's a bit freaky to me, with all the coding and "Freeze CPU forever" and the classified transmission thing. Probably just spam, I'm just wondering.
EDIT: It also mentions Markus Persson in the link...

| Sounds suspicious. Tell him/her to keep away from that message, and don't do anything it says. | |

| Interesting, there was a post exactly like that on Notch's blog recently. | |

| It's an alien transmission
They're just trying to contact us. They might find it offensive if you interpret this plea for help as meaningless drabble. Show some respect.

| To me it looks like coding used to access computer files. The two main paragraphs look like variables and procedures, while everything from TITLE to overflow (O) seem to be the initialisation and declarations.
EDIT: After looking at the assembler I now think that it's an entry level program, like that used to teach people new to the topic. This I decided when I saw the text "Hello World!", because it seems like something you would put to test the program's display function.

....This has nothing to do with Minecraft. Why would you think that..? EDIT: Oh right, Notch. Still, not everything Notch gets is Minecraft related, you know. If you think that then you're a fanboi.

Anyway do you actually know who e-mailed it to your friend? Can you reply to them?

Huh. I didn't see that. Personally I wouldn't trust that email at all.

| The program doesn't seem like it is supposed to freeze the CPU forever. Everything on the right hand side is intrinsic documentation: that is, comments written throughout the program to explain what the commands on the left are. I think Markus Persson was being silly, because a command designed to freeze a CPU indefinitely would take up a lot more lines of coding. He was just exaggerating the 'end' command.
Also, why is this thread in the Roleplay section?
