Introduction of our team:

Do you feel bored? Need a challenge? Help with creating an adventure? An advice to improve your skills? Or maybe a creation for your adventure?

We are here for you!

About us: we are a group of Spore veterans from around the globe with a very diverse background but one thing in common: we still love this game and we invite you to enjoy the game with us. We will use this topic to help you with advice, tips, and answer questions as our part of the effort to revive the community in what we hope will turn into an era of rebirth for our beloved Spore. We offer creations on request and we will challenge you to be creative with contests, some big and some small.

Introducing the members of the Sporenaissance team and what we're able to assist you with:

Andeavor:
Location: Switzerland
Member since: Sept 12, 2008
Spore Notoriety: Building sets, props, spaceships, statuettes
Affiliation: TCP, SporeTV, Spore Uni, CRS, EuroSpore, HBS

In the beginning Andeavor mainly kept to himself. Unhappy with the universally scarce selection of building sets, he decided to have a go at them himself. Fairly quickly, he became known for his prowess in the Building Editor and well respect throughout the community. He has spent a lot of his time helping those through both Spore Uni and Sakiara's Building thread for which he is a major contributor. Though he has spent some time away from Spore now and then, he has remained constant throughout. The first Moderator for EuroSpore and now an Administrator for the forum, he is never far away. When not on Spore he plays games with commentary for YouTube and dreams of building his very own steampunked Disneyland.

Ansje
Location: the Netherlands
Enjoying the Spore editors since August 2nd, 2008, Sporum member since October 13th, 2009
Spore Notoriety: realistic humans especially females, cute and cartoony in any editor, good moving riders.
Affiliation: member of EuroSpore, active moderator on OMMworld.com and known on the Sporum as host of several themed contests.

Female Spore veteran with a love for the outfitter. Interested and a bit picky about movement of creations within a Galactic Adventure, no matter if it are vehicles or creatures. Not very much using cheats in the editors because it is a real challenge to do without. Creating nice looking and good moving riders is an example of such a challenge. Occasionally using alts: AnsjePP for sharing props and prizes and a dark alt: AnsjeDark. The latter is supposed to be the dark side of Ansje but with some charming outfitted skeletons this alt is actually even more cute then the default. Old habits die hard... Besides playing Spore also busy with creating videos and graphics like banners and siggies.

bmpalmann
Name: bmpalmann most commonly know as Ben
Location: UK
Member Since: 4/30/2009 but didn't start playing at all till August 2009
Spore Notoriety: Spaceship and Vehicle specialist, also creator of the spore Overlords of Mechanised Vision with it's 11,000 subs
Affiliation: Active moderator on Eurospore, used to be an Admin for the NDC, also in CRS, SNS, SA

Spore ship creator, known for sleek ships often made out of wing parts, with a style similar (sometimes too similar) to Shattari's. Has in the past done a few experiments on the spore community, most recently one involving pretending a creation was my own, to see if anyone would challenge me. One alt: Remyxomatosis which is primarily used for more experimental designs, the name of this account is taken from a remix of the Radiohead song Myxomatosis. Best not to talk to bmpalmann about music, he's got strong opinions....

darwinken
Location: USA
Member Since: Jan. 2009
Spore Notoriety:'Realistic' humans mostly for use in GAs, long informative &/or humorous descriptions, Co-hosting challenges & contests, replying to all comments.
Affiliation: Eurospore, Founding member of The Guild and OMM forum moderator

Being a biologist, darwinken was intrigued by a computer game that used the concept of evolution as it's main principle. After two rounds of playing the core game he started playing Galactic Adventures & was amazed by it's creative possibilities. Not being particularly accomplished in the editors, he used or modified other peoples creations to make his first GA. Since then darwinken has focused his energies on building / improving his own creations & interacting with the broader Spore community. Along the way, Darwinken has contributed to a number projects aimed at improving the Spore experience.

Dirtymeat
Location: USA
Member since June 20, 2008
Spore Notority: galactic adventures, "dark" creatures and a wide range of props
Affilitation: member of Eurospore and OMMworld, one of the three original founders of the UBD and still an active boss of the UBD|Militia at this moment.

Dirtymeat is commonly known within the Spore community as one of the bosses of the UBD. His knowledge of "meat" can sometimes be found back in the paintjob of his creatures, other inspirations are computergames like Diablo and Gears of War. However: when he is truly inspired, he also likes to make romantic creations or to be busy with sculpting.

Doloreborn
Location: Hungary
Member since June 22, 2008. Formerly known as Doloreg.
Spore Notority: "dark" creatures with very epxressive poses and faces, mostly in the creature editor.
Affiliation: member of EuroSpore, long-time member of the UBD militia

Doloreborn/Doloreg started playing Spore in June 2008. Quality is far more important than quantity: the number of his creations is not high. Being inspired by the "dark side" and writers like H.P. Lovecraft, lot of the creations are dedicated to the UBD (Underground By Design). Other sources of inspiration are the artist Dali and games like Gears of War, Warhammer and World of Warcraft. His creative motto is: "It is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons, even Death may die".

Duhplantman
Location: USA
Member since September 27, 2008
Spore Notority: creatures
Afifliation: member of EuroSpore

Duhplantman is an american spore-oholic inspired by symbolism and the ancient beliefs that shaped the world. This inspiration can often be found back in his visionary comments and descriptions. He believes that our minds are powerful when we believe in ourselves and can see what makes us the same... He has an interest in the past, the future, but most importantly the now, where we can actually make a difference.

G3NJI
Location: USA
Member since: June 19, 2008
Spore Notority: mechs and spaceships
Affiliation: Started a frequently visited Sporum topic regarding mechs, EuroSpore

3GJN (Gen) gets a lot of his inspiration from anime, and also from other creators like mo289, who has helped him a good deal in bettering his own creations. He also gets inspired by creators who enjoy his work, making him want to make stuff even more. Gen is glad to be part of what he thinks is a really solid community of creators. He always has ideas rolling through his head while he is at work and has a ton of things he wants to try out still, so he shouldn't be slowing down anytime soon.

GrandPeep
Location: USA
Member since June 19, 2008
Spore Notority: Spaceship,Outfitting,Buildings
Affilitation: SNS and EuroSpore, daily highlights of the Sporenaissance

GrandPeep has been with the Spore community since the Creature Creator. A prolific Jack of all Trades enjoys creating in whatever editor his mood takes him. Imagination is his guide and he often finds himself making a creation based on whatever happens to be on his mind at the moment: movies, cartoon, news, etc. Grand Peep was the discoverer of the asymmetrical glitch before prepatch 5 was the only way to get asymmetrical creatures without a mod. Non game breaking glitches should be embraced in Spore if that helps further creativity.

MarkyDMan
Location: England
Member since: July 1 2009
Spore Notoriety: Spaceships, vehicles, graphic shops
Affiliation: EuroSpore Graphics Designer, Ex-Chloro Sigs

MarkyDMan, or Marky as he prefers to be called, joined Spore in the Summer of '09, mainly as an outlet of creativity for spaceships as 3D modelling was both too complex and too time-consuming. He still creates for fun, being very unknown to anyone outside of the Sporum Creator Corner, even on Spore.com, although his lack of fame does not deter him from creating in the slightest. He is mostly known for his graphics art, having been active members of both Exalted Sigs and Chloro sigs, although his own shops never really got off the ground. He did however create both the new graphics for BAU, the single most popular fanclub of this time, and the complete graphics suite for EuroSpore.

MichaelmodPerry
Location: USA
Member since: July 23rd, 2009.
Spore Notoriety: creatures, props and hilarious texts
Affiliation: EuroSpore and OMMworld.

description will be added later.

MjrGlory
Location: the Netherlands
Member since: June 18, 2008
Spore Notoriety: Outfitter mechs & a wide variety of other creations
Affiliation: Suit up or Die Outfitters, Eurospore, IFMC.

Loving drawing and studying architecture, the creative side of spore quickly caught MjrGlory's attention. The creature creator was downloaded right from the start and the creating began. He pre-ordered the game, but once it arrived he played it for only a week. After that he got back to creating an endless variety of creatures. He's known for his detailed style and unique part usage, but most of all for his mechanical creations which he started making right after his first sabbatical from spore. He enjoys contests and you often find him in more than 3 at the same time. On the sporum he started multiple contests himself and a recently deceased thread for outfitter requests which he ironically called 'Suit up or Die',...^^

Mushroomking1
Location: USA
Member since: May 25, 2009
Spore Notoriety: Very ornate and colorful building sets including matching creatures; Mushbergé Eggs
Affiliation: member of EuroSpore and OMMworld

Being very interested in architecture and art, Mushroomking1 soon found himself inspired by creators like Sakiara and Andeavor and worked quite hard to become the distinguished "sporechitect" he is today. He has a passion for detailing and shiny colors and he likes to create complete sets that not only include buildings, but everything from fountains to monuments to spaceships and creatures as well. His style in the building editor, characterized by the unique size, detail and palette of his designs, led him to create an impressive range of Fabergé-like eggs as gifts for famous buddies and personal friends. Though he arrived at Spore during the end of its golden age, he has had a successful run in the community and expects to keep building for days to come.

Parkaboy
Location: Brazil
Member since: June 14, 2008
Spore Notoriety: Adventures, outfitting, in-game sets including matching buildings and vehicles; also a SporeMaster, though currently inactive
Affiliation: TCP, Spore Uni, CRS

Parkaboy came across Spore in 2006 while searching for a decent sci-fi 4x game, and lurked on the GamingSteve Spore community since that moment. After the game's release, he dedicated himself to creating content that matched Spore's somewhat cartoonish style and could be used in-game. In 2009, he became a moderator on the official forums, visited the Maxis Studios with several other creators for the Adventure Camp and contributed to Galactic Adventures by creating a few assets to be shipped with the EP. Now he just sits around, eating M&M's.

sefmonsta
Location: UK
Member since: July 13, 2008
Spore Notoriety: creatures, props, adventures.
Affiliation: EuroSpore, contest host.

Sefmonsta's specialised skills are: making just about anything in the creature editor (power tools, sandwich-makers, hovercraft, grenades, realistic horses, flowers, cartoon characters, trophies...). Also, he is good at placing things in the GA editor to create 'seemless' environments. Generally he likes to think of himself as an all-rounder with no particular set style. In his role as a graphic designer he is good at making what the client needs, not what he wants to design. He thinks the same applies to his Spore creations - each has it's own style, dictated by the type of creation it is. His comic creations look cartoony, his realistic creations look as realistic and detailed as he can make them and so on. He is quite a perfectionist when it comes to most of his creative endeavours, so he doesn't have as large a Spore collection as you might expect, but he tries to make sure each looks like a finished product before he publishes.

Serevanth
Location: USA
Member since: August 21, 2008.
Spore Notoriety: Realistic and detailed creations, notably spiders
Affiliation: The founder of the “Unknown Creator Spotlight”, which debuted several now well known creators getting them their first appearances on the MPN, and saw many of them featured.

Obsessed with one simple rule, creations have to look good and animate well. That principle is the driving force behind the attention to detail you will find in all of Serevanth’s creations. Shortly before discovering the trial creature creator for Spore he read a novel about a race of spider like aliens that kidnapped Manhattan in order to save a piece of the Earth before it was destroyed. Inspired by the story, he decided to make his first race an arachnid species and was immediately amazed by just how difficult it is to create a good looking spider within the confines of the complexity meter of spore. Needless to say he became obsessed with getting it just right.

Slarti-42
Location: Canada
Member since: September 19, 2008. Formerly known as Slartibartfast38
Spore Notority: male creatures with very detailed outfitting
Affiliation: one of the three original founders of the UBD, member of EuroSpore and initiator of the Sporenaissance.

Inspired by the old-days-creators like Hilight, Fotosynthesis, Shattari and G3NJI, Slarti tried to reach the creators top bar by practising each editor, one by one, very hard. Once getting some attention, he found himself addicted to the praise and adulation, so he practiced some more, found an editor he was best in (at the time), studied the MPN to see if there was a niche that could be filled...and went about filling it. 'Spaceships' got him noticed, and put him on the map. He finally found his groove after he was well known...his confidence was boosted and he started to 'let loose' in the editors. Wanting to inspire others he was one of the founders at the start of the UBD, recently he initiated the Sporenaissance. Slarti is inspired by classic fairytales, but his fairytale inspired creations have his very own, dark signature. Most of his recent creations are very well outfitted creatures. Though known in the community for his expressive way of talking, inside rumours say he can be quite speechless at times and that he also is inspired by the animation movies of Walt Disney....

Techno605
Location: Australia
Member since: June 21, 2008.
Spore Notority: Master in the building editor: creatures, props, buildings, logo's, trophees and especially shiny "Spart"
Affiliation: member of EuroSpore and OMMworld, creator of many trophees, one of them on request by MaxisCactus.

After experimenting with all editors Techno decided the building editor to be his most favorite. His artistic and shiny creations can be considered as "Spart" (Spore-art) but techno605 has used the building editor for creations in a completely different style as well: old-fashioned Santa's, the Simpson family, and beautiful, very realistic creations like tree houses, a luxurious coffin, and "wooden" toys. Lots of these creations are entered in contests and very inspirational for other contestants. To help other ceators Techno has several very instructive videos that can be found on his YouTube page.

tomographics
Location: Australia
Spore Notoriety: Art and logos
Affiliation: EuroSpore and OMMworld

Description: Enjoys gaming in his spare time, especially Spore and the Elder Scrolls series. The building editor is the most favorite editor of Tomographics, often used to create artistic creations also known under the name "Spart" (Spore-art). Tomographics also inspired other creators to create artistic looking creations with a snowflake and a logo contest.

Vektrix
Location: England
Member since: March 2 2009
Spore Notoriety: Extinct Creatures, Raptors, Building Interiors and SporeMaster
Affiliation: TGS, CRS, LotP, founder of EuroSpore.

Vektrix discovered Spore in the Fall of 2008, but did not get it til Christmas and because of various issues, did not activate it til March 2009. He very quickly entered the community and became one of only three people to achieve Galactic God without role-playing before major glitches hit the Sporum. Becoming a SporeMaster in March 2010 - around the same time he founded EuroSpore, Vektrix has continued his involvement, but after a nine month sabbatical, has taken it up again. Outside of Spore he is a Liverpool FC fan and a self-confessed Haribo addict.

In addition to the team members mentioned above we are very pleased with the help of the UBD militia members IceInMyBlood and Rikyudoo, who assist us with creating "dark style" creatures and props on request. Thanks guys, highly appreciated.

The ideas behind this project cannot be better expressed then with the following quote of Slarti:
Quote :
Spore is one of my greatest pleasures. I 'relax' in the editors. I enjoy the community.
Sadly our little game and community have been fractured for awhile now. However, one thing that has never changed is the passion people feel for this game, and for creating.
For some, the MPN has become a battle ground filled with drama. For others, the MPN matters not.
There has been a slowly widening crack in our little art community. Maxis has not closed the doors, and more than a few of us hang around...waiting, it seems.
I've long thought that it would be nice to see this game return to it's former glory, the chances of that happening are very slim.
It dawned on me one day, that it may be better now, with things as they are. We have a smaller list of active players who, in general, have a deep devotion for Spore. Making it possible to have a more personal and friendly environment in which to create and have fun.
...if only we had a meeting place to gather, band together, and bring the FUN back.
...a place that has a little of this, and a little of that...for EVERYONE.
...a place to hang out, ask questions, get feedback.
...a place to show your skills, your creations.
...a lounge for some, a club for others.

So, I asked a few of my friends if they'd like to help build such a place, to 'give back' to the Spore community which we love so much. Each one agreed, without hesitation.

The Sporenaissance thread is what we've come up with.

It is a work in progress, and your input and ideas will be greatly appreciated. You can help us finish the 'house' we are trying to build. 😉

Welcome to the party, people. Let's take our game back.

Without further ado, I hope you're all ready for a lot of fun. :D

I've been contributing to the Sporenaissance for a while. The creators there are very nice, kind and such. Unlike some other creators...

Anyway, if you still play Spore I suggest you stop by the Sporenaissance.

That's harsh. It's not our fault that some of us don't even play Spore anymore but I do agree that it is an impressive thread. I had a look at their creating tutorial topics on certain things like making a realistc human for example. happy.

It doesn't really have to with how many people here play spore, I just mean the actual owners are not here, so it seems empty without them.
