| When humanity rejects the angel on its shoulder...
...That is when the sound of God's Trumpeters shall be heard.
In other words, so long as there are people with moral integrity in this world, we will always be safe from Rapture.
That's my belief, anyways.

If that's true, then everyone would end up in hell, and nobody in heaven. Kinda defeats the purpose, in my opinion.

| Honestly, I don't care if I end up in heaven or hell, because I don't believe in either. And if I die and end up in hell, oh well.
I just wanted to share that.

That's not what I meant. But Drew's right, let's save this discussion for a later thread.

That's not what I meant. But Drew's right, let's save this discussion for a later thread. How about never. If people start arguing over what they believe in it creates a lot of drama. Ironically thats a major issue in the world.

Ironically thats a major issue in the world. ...so technically, we ARE on topic! Just kidding. You're right, we shouldn't be discussing religion on GAC at all. Let's drop it.

| Theres tons of others. But there ones that kinda move off to the side and come down to ones opinion. I can think of one. As much as a I do not want to say it we, ourselfs alive today, are a rather ignorant generation. For the two or three of you that dont know what being ignorant is its stupidity. Its not really our faults either. I think most of it comes from the worlds education system. For example, America had the top education system 25 years ago. Now I believe they are at #16 I think. All that I can remember is that it is no longer in the top ten. Again obviously not our faults. But I could not help but notice this with my rather observertive mind. Hell when I was in 4th grade I moved from Maine to New Hampshire. In Maine I was already learning about everything in division. In New Hampsires schools they were just getting out of basic addition! They don't even teach Sexual Education, History or Geography.. Those are kinda important and I missed those in Middle school becuase they apparently had the potential to 'hurt someones feelings'. Last year and this year I had to learn everything from the scope of 6th grade to 8th online becuase as some of my closer internet buddies know I do online schooling. Getting a little off track here, but with a screwed up education system and all the distractions people have growing up now its no wonder why a lot of people have such a hard time with basic facts. Have any of you seen this on the news before? Or at least on tv? Theres like those interviews were they ask people from the age of 16 - 21 simple questions and they miss at least half of them. Simple things like pointing out Russia on the global map. Have fun taking apart my wall of text. | |

| I agree 100% Drew, our education is getting worse and worse. Luckily there's a few of us like me and other GACers on people out there who are still educated enough that they're not all dumb and sittin' round play games and eating fried chicken all day. But the education is getting MUCH less funds, and teachers are getting fired. Even my Dad, a music teacher, was almost not gonna teach next year. So I suggest more school funding, and more people interested in learning enough that they can do basic math and reading. Although, some schools like my middle school I'm going to are still determined enough that they really support and help kids accomplish learning at all means. (They even have a second math class for kids who need more help. Not like me who got 600/600 on my STAR test math score ) So again, I BEG YOU GOVERNMENT, SAVE OUR SCHOOLS! SAVE OUT SCHOOLS! If learning keeps getting slowed at this rate, we'll be doing basic multiplication in 6th grade :P | |

| I have a lot to say on that: First of all, people could hardly READ at one point. Are learning is actually increasing. second, Its the public school system thats screwd up.(with a few privet schools) What you should blame for this is Political Correctness. Its the reason why things are being censord out of the school curiculums and History being rewritten. - lazer wrote:

Thats not really somthing people are intrerested in naturally, you have to be forced to learn. Thats why we have shcool. - Drew wrote:

Belive it or not, thats something thats always been around, its just more "in your face now" because we have TV and over stuff. And sometimes, all shows actually show are the stupid ones because, excuse me for this, its funnier than whatching an average person getting some right and a few wrong.

| Well you see Dark its going both ways at this point. While schooling is being depleted a bit, we have a lot more access to information then we did ten years ago. With the Internet we have gone far beyond what anyone could have dreamed just a few years ago. So my two cents is that our knowledge can expand a lot more then say in the 'olden days'. But our education is kinda slacking off with it. I agree with you about the political part you mentioned though.
Of course there have always been stupid people, of course its more in our face now then ever but its still increasingly growing. We cant just excuse that.

| this number of Stupid people, is growing, but i very much doubt if the proportion of the population who are stupid has increased. Just because the number is growing, so is the total population so people in general aren't getting "stupider" or "cleverer".
Also the Media is SO negative. Miracle tech, and theories are made reguarly but the media rarely publicise these.

| I dont even watch the news. I just stopped becuase New Hampshire news can only give me murder stories out of Massachusetts. Your right, its all negative. I just use google news and the sporums Science and Spore section. Pretty much everyone posts a new development in science there everyday and the threads get at least 300 posts.
We have more people that are less educated, its not that the rest of us that already have been properly educated getting stupider. Again the population is not getting more clever like you said but we have the ability to know more but most people dont make an effort.

| Humans are a brutal race. Not only do they destroy the environment (which is the worst thing they do in my opinion), but they also commit horrible crimes to themselves. Yes, maybe some animals do attack each other, even their own race, but it is not the carnage that humans and their devices commit.
The introduction may seem of topic, but truly, ever since Humans evolved their first weapons the world hasn't been the same. From spears, to sword, to rifles, to machine guns to hydrogen bombs. Humans are so intent on killing their own species that they are virtually self-destructing (thank god). But really, what they do to the wildlife is what chills me. In the Amazon, one species of insect may only live in one square mile of forest, the whole species of this seemingly inconspicuous insect could be killed when this square mile of forest is cut down to make homes for a few Humans (a species that is very common and widespread) without even being described to science. This happens every day in nearly all Rainforests. Not only that, but this Insect may be an important food source to another insect, with this insect gone the other insect will be doomed to extinction as well.
However, it is not confined to this recent era. Many crimes have been committed throughout history=many just as vile as the ones now. I could quote Delta if I wanted to, as I am coming from the same point as he is.
I'm not saying all Humans are bad, but the ones in power= the ones who make ALL the decisions are what some could call corrupt. However, they are simply struggling for survival in their own way.
(I'll fix up the grammar and syntax later)

Why does a thread complaining about spam depress you? Even if it's true I wouldn't call it depressing. Annoying is the word I'd probably use.

| New subject. If you guys want to continue.
Rough quoting from the recent areas I have read from the Bible: "In the last days another sign appears, earthquakes and natural disasters will occur much much more often and in very different places"
National Global Geology Department:
"Things such as this have always happened but no year has been quite like 2011. Its a bit frightening to think we have officially broken the record for most natural disasters in a single year. The scary part for me at least is that we are not even out of 2011 yet and theres still much more to experience"
Could there be any sort of connection here? Any thinking person knows that these are least sound similar in nature. However the way I see it they dont exactly validate each other, yet. If 2012, 2013, 2014 and so fourth slowly get worse and each year have more natural disasters then I see how they could validate one another.
Discus.

| On the new discussion, I say it is too early to tell. As you said, things might ramp up in 2012, 2013, and 2014, but right now all we've got is speculation. The jump from 2010 to 2011 as far as natural disasters go was larger, but we'll need to wait to see if the trend continues. | |
