Mitchz, I think you will lose all your creations....or maybe you won't, but you would have to play on the first one you bought if you wanted to use them.

I had to restart with all my creations twice. It's not too bad because most of your stuff is backed up online.

What about the creations that aren't shared? Will I lose those?

share 'em. then if you would, it wont be an isue.

you wouldnt lose your creations if you reinstalled or bought a new disk for spore.
EXEPT if you made a new acount.
the creations would go to "my creations" but marked as your old usernames.

And that applies to creations that aren't shared as well?

I suppose if you archive your "My Spore Creations" folder, then start over, it will make a new folder. Then, theoretically, if you move all the old creations into the new folder, it should keep them in your game. Because the "My Spore Creations" keeps all the creations, even ones that aren't shared.

As for reinstalling Spore, I've tried it before. It works for a little while, but before too long that d***ed error message comes back and I want to kill someone.

The instant scan may be for windows computers. Things that run on windows like .exe files open in text edit in a fantastic looking dialect of jiberish. My spore is on a windows computer, but I installed it on a hard drive so it only runs and saves on the computer.
A good idea would be to regularly back up your save games in whichever directory they are in, along with your creations, and migrate to a different computer, if there is one available. It may be the capacity of the computer itself. I'm no tech wizard but that's all I can give for the matter.
