- I agree. The newer pokemon don't look all that cool. But some of them do, and they're the ones that I chose for my party (on the previous page of this thread). Also, I hate the idea of triple battles. Double battles were cool enough, but triple battles are just pushing it.
Also, Hutch, I'd say that an engaging plot isn't necessary for a Pokemon game, since it's not really an action game and it rather focuses on customizing your pokemon and your party in the most advantageous way to beat all the gym leaders and elite four. But I respect your opinion nonetheless.
Oh, and about the 3D graphics, they should have stopped improving their graphics after the 3rd generation. The 2D environments were the best for a portable game system. 3D graphics are too much for a little DS to pull off well. Gelo, I'm worried that your being brainwashed. I agree with almost all of these points, pokemon emerald was by far the best pokemon game in my opinion. But I'd like to see a pokemon game where I'm not smashing the A button all the time because I know what the characters are going to say. You NEED a plot if you want to sell. Because if you don't, you've probably lost a good 25% of your audience. Decent plots add interest to the game, spice it up a bit. And give people a reason to play it. Though I do agree that pokemon revolves around catching and training little sprites, the game doesn't deserve a plot as simplistic as it has been.

| This is for you, Kitty: (please pardon my awful 'shopping skills) And Hutch, I am NOT being brainwashed. I have a strong willpower! I just don't think that pokemon games really need that much of a story to support them. But I respect your opinion anyway. I suppose some people like stories a lot. I only like stories that I make. | |

| Can I just teleport in and say that Black and White have a much better plot than the other games. Also, Hydreigon destroys all arguements of bad Pokemon designs. Good day. | |

Too bad it has heads for hands. And that it's first two evolutions are way too similar, despite it growing another head.

| I never really got Pokemon, I thought it was just watching animals be imprisoned and fight to the death. Though some of the creatures on it are pretty cool :3 | |

| I think pokemon has a bad reputation to parents because they think that they die, I remeber one of my friends weren't allowed to watch pokemon because his parents thought it was violent. | |

Oh, and also, I beat Pokemon Trainer Red in Heart Gold with my regular party, all totally legit pokemon caught or traded in the game, all around level 62. For those of you who don't know, Red is the toughest trainer in the game. His pokemon are all around level 85. My brother (Lark) beat Red before me, but he used a level 100 Dragonite from the GTS. In case you're curious, here's the party I used: Typhlosion Slowking Electivire Heracross Crobat Mamoswine

| What's with the starters of fifth gen? Especially the water type... What is this thing supposed to be: A baby clown? Good ol' days when we had Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur, best starter pokemons ever (also mudkip, obiously). Thinking about it, none other pokemon had the charm of the first 150. Whatever anyone says, even 2nd gen was not as creative as the 1st gen pokemons... Awesomeness: | |

He looks a little dorky IMO, but his final evo looks pretty cool. Plus he's the only one with a decent name. (Really, Nintendo? "TEH PIG"?!)

Baby clown lol. Turtle->Alligator->Axolotl->Penguin->Baby clown? The first four are all sea animals... Why a baby clown as the fifth? did they run out of animals?

| No, it's an otter.
Thus the name "Oshawott".
There's already a walrus pokemon. (Can't remember it's name, it's the final evo of Spheal.)

| Walrein rules. When you pair it up with Abomasnow, give it some leftovers, and teach it rest and snore, it becomes an unbeatable wall. | |

| Rest? Just use Substitute. You will never run out of health with Ice Body and Leftovers, only PP, and can then fire off Blizzards and maybe Toxics whenever the opportunity emerges ( a switch, for example). | |

| Substitute is actually a good idea... since Walrein has a ton of HP, it can probably keep its substitute up for a while. The only reason I don't teach my Walrein Blizzard is that since it's such an efficient wall, and it stays in battle for a while, Blizzard could run out of PP easily.
By the way, while we're on the topic, I totally made a party of ice-type pokemon so I can be an ice gym leader. Because ice is obviously the best type. Here's the pokemon in the party:
Wailord (devastating Water Spout used to get rid of pokemon quickly) Froslass (to start hailstorm) Articuno (because it is awesome, as long as it stays away from rock types) Abomasnow (to work with Walrein) Walrein (as an impenetrable wall) Mamoswine (the physical sweeper, to get rid of whatever the opponent has left)
All are about level 50, excluding Mamoswine, which is level 63 because it's a member of my main party. I'm considering replacing Froslass with Dewgong, because Froslass is frail and has no strong moves or any other good use. And because Dewgong is my favorite ice type. I might also replace Wailord, but probably not since its choice scarf/water spout combo kicks butt.

| Uhh... Ice is the WORST type, defensively at least. They have only one resistance (itself) and quite a few weaknesses. Their only pro is that they're super effective on Dragons, and even then you could use a water type.
And on the subject of gyms, I claim Fighting type.

| I claim Psycic type!
And also, Ghost/Dark is the best. NOTHING is super effective against it. (Sableye and Spiritomb are this type)

| Dude... have you seen this pokemon? Eelektross. Electric type with Levitate. The new pokemon with no weaknesses. I was actually hoping to see an electric with levitate before I saw this pokemon, knowing that it would have no weaknesses... Beat that, Kitty. Way better than Spiritomb or Sableye could ever do. And Ferrety, I agree that ice is a pretty bad type, but that's why they always pair it up with another type. Pure ice types are wasted pokemon. Besides, it's only weak to fighting, fire, rock, and steel. Not too many weaknesses. | |
