Tech pads are one of the static objects you can find in the objects library. They are pink/purple with orange and grey. And because they aren't a gameplay object, they may save complexity.
Hmm, alright, I'll try to find them. Also, edited screenie above so you can actually see it. :/

As far as I've seen tech pads are always fully loaded from the start whereas jump pads still take a bit to load on buggier games so there is still a risk of falling through the floor at the start so I highly recommend you do try it.

I got a couple pics for you good folks tonight; one is a more traditional WIP screenie, the other is of what will probably become the final thumbnail for the adventure.
The thumbnail...

Interesting pics. In any case, why all the-looks at title. Well, the creatures look sort of exotic, I like the style. Even I can tell when my stuff looks crappy compared to other people's stuff. And my stuff is looking pretty bad at the moment....

New screenshot! Well, not so much a screenshot as me accidentally hitting the "take a screenshot button"... http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198041065637/screenshot/594714175149521083
Also, in working on stuff today, I began experimenting with turning sound effects and ambiences faster or slower, the same thing that can be done with music. I'll probably post a video soon demonstrating what I'm using it for.

Dooble post and bump.
Here's a youtube video I just uploaded, showing just a bit of the set you'll be starting off in.
Also, feedback about anything I've posted so far would be greatly appreciated. It's helpful to know what interests people and what doesn't.

A yes... I've been using it like that for quite some time. For example, you can take the female scream, make it slower and you'll have a really scary jump effect, scream. The same with lake ambience, if you make it slower the water will sound more dull moving. Example: http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=sast-500832922487

Heh, I hadn't heard of the female scream thing, I'll have to try that. I've been experimenting recently with creating sounds for ice cracking, by using multiple "Door Open" and "Door Creaking", you can get some really ominous SFX.
Also, a few more pictures to show:
