S3VEN - IC

Flank let out a long, painful groan. Upon crashing the butt of his rifle had jabbed his sternum, winding and bruising him. He got onto his feet, swaying, and looked up at the tiger that had hit him. It was being attacked by the weightless, and as far as Flank knew, genderless form of Slurp. The distraction she provided was enough for Flank to breath a few times, recover his rifle and resume his attack on the tiger.

The attack consisted of nothing more than another bullet, aimed at tiger 2's left flank.

The Sectrix anatomy is highly tolerable, as it is an insect race. Because of the long time from home, Reeq had forgotten this fact and over dramatized. What seemed to be blood was actually wicked ichor. When Fem'Nyla nudged him, he got into a "second breathing".
With a deep breath he forced himself up.
"Thanks." He told Fem'Nyla.
His vision was still blurry but started to clear.

Slurp dodge the tiger's paws and tried to aim for it's neck. Her heart didn't want Slurp to kill the rare creature but her mind reminded Slurp that she had no choice.

As grendar saw the beast begin to move, and jumped out of the way, one of the tigers tusks still making a large gash on one of his legs. He aimed and shot at the now fairly close tiger's chest.

The combination of Micaneil's work with the blade and Grendar's shot at Tiger 1's chest was enough to significantly weaken the creature even more than it already was. It fell to the floor, groaning, but still ready to swipe out at anyone who tried to finish it off. The fire flared in its eyes as it struggled to hold onto life.

Flank's bullet flew past Tiger 2's side, imploding somewhere off where bending gravitation as well as influencing the air at a molecular level mattered to nothing except the floor.

((Shar, it seems like you're ending your posts too early. You have a habit of mentioning Slurp's intentions, but not actually specifying what her attack is. For referance, "He threw a punch at her face," is better and easier to respond to than, "He prepared to attack her and go in for the kill." Also, I'd like it if you'd stop using red text, as I haven't mentioned that it has any significance in the OOC thread. Hopefully you'll view this as helpful guidance, and not me giving you a lecture, as that was not my intention. ))

"Damn it..." Flank murmured. He was supposed to be tight on bullets, and he had just wasted one. He knew he had to be closer to ensure a hit.

He broke into a dash, flapping his wings, and fired another bullet at the tiger once he covered half the distance. Then, he brought the rifle out to his right, and swung it at the tendons on the tiger's hind leg. Immediately, he ducked preemptively, going by the fact that every feline he faced in S3VEN had a tendency to swipe at him.

Slurp got caught in Tiger2's paws cause she dodged way too early unaware that she had allowed herself to be captured. Her plasma dagger isn't with her. It dropped and skitterd across away from its owner almost near the other side of the arena. Slurp tries to wriggle out for freedom but it's heavy furry paws kept her pinned down. Slurp can feel the claws digging into her skin (this will cause her to bleed a bit). Her only hope is that Flank the Ravis will save her from a possible end.

Tiger 2 was hit in the side with Flank's second shot, which was followed by a horrible hissing and gurgling sound. The vacuum induced by the bullet ripped out part of the tiger's rib, along with several vital organs. The resulting mess left the tiger dead and both Flank and Slurp covered in blood.

Seeing that Tiger 1 was weakened, Fem'Nyla ran up to Micaneil, her vision now fully recovered, and handed his carbine back to him.

Slurp had to crawl out of the now dead Tiger2's lifeless body. She was completly coverd in blood from her hair to her body. Slurp grinned at her rescuer Flank who is also coverd in blood but not as much as her. "I thank you for saving my sorry little life. If you hadn't done that, I might have ended up as a kitty treat." Slurp suddenly fell to her knees and cluched her body. Tiny trickles of her own blood are escaping. Slurp thought she felt something alright but it had to be the sharp claws that dug into her skin. Slurp bested cougars, robots and even hijacked one only to make things diffcult and yet she surrvied them but Tiger2. What is worse, her weapon is on the other side of the arena. Unless someone kind enough got it for Slurp, she is unable to move for the time being.

Flank's swing missed the tiger's leg, his duck causing him to trip, and the blood splattered on his front confused him. With a surprised yelp he fell over, twisting, and clattered against the ground. After wiping bits of tiger from the parts of his body that could see, he lumbered over to Slurp.

"Sure, it's OK." He replied to the small contestant. As he looked down at her, she doubled over, clutching her body. Flank looked around for anything that could help, but couldn't see anything. He walked around the arena, trying to get a better angle on tiger 1, and stepped on something hot and sharp.

He jumped back, raising his rifle on instinct, and beheld Slurp's plasma dagger. He picked it up and held it in front of his chest. To him, it was just a plasma toothpick, but that was understandable of Slurp; a dagger his size would be a longsword for her.

He trotted back and handed the weapon back to her, pinching the handle with two of his talons.

((Okay, just so everyone knows, I'm waiting for one of you to make a move on Tiger 1, and I'm also waiting for Terwynd's character to give my character her weapon back. ))

The carbine was given to him. Without words, he took it back, went close to the dying Tiger and fired a shot it towards it's head, almost as a mercy execution, though without any real mercy involved.

He could tell Fem'Nyla wanted her weapon back, but kept it in his off hand just in case the tiger springs up before he made his execution shot.

Tiger 1 jerked its head back as Micaneil fired at its head, the bullet missing. It weakly swiped at the Travidian, the life draining from its body.

Slurp took her plasma dagger back from Flank with some effort. She still couldn't move her body unless she wanted to risk losing more blood which she's not planning to do so. Slurp hoped they'll get another break so that she put some tough but comfortable bandages to cover up the nasty cut marks. Slurp strained her neck to look up at Flank. "I don't suppose you could do me another favor. Can you mind me till we get a break? Apologies but I'm in no condition to fight for a while."

Micaneil swore quite loudly at the tiger, both at the sight of his embarrassing miss and the claws grazing his ankle. Furious, he proceeded to follow up with vicious, beastial strikes at all of the limbs of the tiger, attempting to make it nothing but a bloody torso and head with the blade in his off-hand, leaving it to bleed to death after he's finished. Micaneil wasn't easy to anger, but the combined effects of embarrassment, pain, fear, slight craving for his steady drug and the increasingly annoying ringing in his ears pushed his temper over the edge.

Micaneil's rage left the tiger bloodied, deformed, and utterly devoid of life. Fem'Nyla took her blade back.

Concluding wave 3, the holoscreen once again flickered on to show the O'onthos reporters giving their updates.

"...better be stepping up their game soon, because everyone's votes have dropped after that last round!"

"Indeed they have, but let's check them out anyway. Micaneil has dropped to 19%, barely keeping his lead over the other contestants. Slurp at 18%, Flank and Fem'Nyla at 17%, Grendar starting to rise up with 15%, Vandore and Reeq both at 7%. I'll tell yah, someone needs to do something crazy, or this audience will stop caring!"

"Well you can't predict everything now, we've still got two rounds to go, and rumor is running around that Drenic is readying a very special finale for wave 5..."

The screen turned off to be replaced by the rumble of doors opening in the arena. Six of the seven doors opened, and they only opened a fraction of the way before massive bugs started swarming out. These were Prylanthian jabberbugs, characterized by their massive, sharp pincers, as well as their dangerous swarming techniques. They scittered along on six legs, retaining normal insect speed despite their grotesque size.

Swarming into two groups, the jabberbugs targeted two groupings of mercenaries: Vandore, Micaneil, and Fem'Nyla, and Flank, Slurp, Reeq, and Grendar. Moving quicker than the mercs could react, the bugs surrounded these groups and started biting at their heels, getting under their feet, trying to trip them up.

((There are thirty-some bugs in this round. As with wave 2, don't refer to them bug 1, bug 2, etc. These will be relatively easy to kill, so don't be afraid to mention attacking multiple bugs in one post. ))

They want ingenuity? Thought Flank, I'll give 'em frigging ingenuity.
He popped two bullets at the swarm in front of him, followed by two collective shrieks as the insects collapsed upon themselves.

Then, with a flap of his wings, he leaped into the air, limbs spread, and fell down upon the remaining insects before him. A myriad of crunches, cracks, and squeals sounded out as his quarter-ton weight crushed them, leaving Flank face down on the floor, covered in insect entrails and marrow.

Flank had taken out six bugs with his maneuver. Regardless, none of the remaining bugs shifted their attention to him, opting to continue nipping at the mercinaries' heels.

Fem'Nyla kicked out at one of the oncoming bugs, tearing its head off and producing a gooey substance that splattered onto the nearby wall. She stomped down on another one, her foot sinking into a mushy yellow goop. Aiming for another kill, she grabbed the nearest bug and pinned it against the wall. She twirled her blade and stuck the jabberbug through the middle of its head. In doing this, she had also recieved a few minor lacerations to her shoulder.

Those bugs look familiar... Oh shoot! Vandore thought. These bugs had once given him a LOT of trouble back on an excavation trip with some people he worked with. Some of them were small enough to stomp on. The bigger were ones were not so fortunate, being as they were being ripped and melted apart by Vandore's sword. One of them managaed to scrape his face, much near his left eye.

Tipical. It had to be those bugs that Slurp remembered she once did a study on Jabberbugs and made a prototype of the same thing. Some of them would be around her size and others twice bigger. As Flank shot a Jabberbug off his leg, Slurp gestured him to come back and yelled: "Let me hop on your back! I'll not just be safe but I can get rid of any Jabberbugs that are on you! We'd be unstoppable together in a way."

"Hmmmph?" Flank asked from within the pile of insect carcasses. He pulled himself out of the thick layer of corpses and hurried over to Slurp, stepping lightly to avoid getting bitten. He reached down, picked her up with his left hand and deposited her on his right shoulder, where she could hold onto the metal arm his cannon was mounted on.

He settled into a low stance and bent forward a bit. Thus prepared he began to swipe at the insects with his assault rifle, but also with his other hand and cannon. His lumbering form staggered through the swarm of jabberbugs, his rifle cleaving through their legs and his hand and cannon batting them away. He moved in a circle around Reeq and Grendar.

Vandore had taken out four bugs with his maneuvers, making several more begin heading his way.

As Flank stomped through the throng of bugs, several of them met his blade on the rifle, even more having one or more of their legs incapacitated with a large CRUNCH! One of the bugs managed to gain enoung brainpower to attack Flank's shoulder, specifically a large seed that had attatched itself there.

((~15 of 35 bugs gone.))

Vandore was splattered with yellowish gore from the insects. His skin was mostly covered by his jumpsuit, which was still nonetheless splattered with the gore. The uncovered skin which included his face, his feet, and his hands were suddenly itching like crazy. Dammit... I forgot this stuff made me itch like Heck. Thought Vandore. He needed water to wash the stuff off, but that was out of the question. He saw more bugs converging on his location, and attempted to grab one to shove it into the nearby wall, tried to slice several at once, while attempting to stomp some of the other ones.

((Guys, the poisonous blood only affects me. Or you guys if you want it to. It's more or less a species-specific thing. So, if you want it to affect you, by all means, do so.))

(Ha a large seed! That's so new and yet clever! )

As soon as Slurp saw the Jabberbug coming at her, her instincts kicked in. Slurp crouched thus protecting her body while hanging on to the Ravis's shoulder that held his weapon which didn't contain any ammo. Pity Slurp couldn't used that to shoot the JabberBug off of Flank without harming the big guy and also destroy the other JabberBugs that are scuttling about on the ground nipping any merc's heels in sight. Slurp held her plasma dagger in one hand, her other hand gripping in case Slurp falls off. As she aimed at the insect's mouth between it's madibals she thought:" I hope your the only SMART Jabberbug here!" Slurp then launched her attack.

"Thanks.." Grendar mumbled sarcastically as Flank began circling them, with the bugs close behind. He fired three shots into the swarm of bugs, lining them up as best he could to try to hit more than one with each shot.
